Should I hire an individual instead?
Hiring an individual can appear advantageous but please consider all the factors.

When a family hires an individual, it certainly is cheaper in price but there are other factors to consider other than the price.

When the worker is absent, what will the family do for a replacement sitter or nurse aide for the day?

Will the family invest in a criminal background check to be sure the caregiver(s) are considered safe to enter a loved one's home?

Is the family aware that if the caregiver does not pay for their employment taxes, the family will be held responsible for these taxes?

Does the family know they could be sued by the worker (caregiver, sitter, nurse aide) for compensation of work related injuries?
